Let Down Key Insert, Alarm and Universal (uses Clock Key)
Double-ended Insert for Clockmaker's let down key set.
Universal size, which uses the clock's own key which fits into the slots on the end. Ergonomic Handle, wood block and other size inserts sold separately. These tools are used to gradually let down the power from the springs of a clock before disassembly. It is not safe for the clock or the human to try to disassemble a clock without letting off all the power. With the let-down tool, the power just slips gradually through the user's hand, with no harm. Once all the power is dissipated, the clock can safely be disassembled.
